If only these were more available...

Unfortunately, one doesn't typically come across these delightful treats too often in the US. The first time I ever tasted these was in France, I believe. I've been lucky enough to nibble on them several times in my travels, though I will admit that I did find them once at Bristol Farms in San Diego. I was thrilled even though they weren't of the best quality. Mr X says he sees them (and eats them) quite a bit in the UK. I am not quite certain why they are so uncommon here. They are quite tasty little morsels.

Gooseberries.

They sell gooseberries at the farmers' markets here.
Does that mean our suburbia is cosmopolitan?
Or maybe it just means that Oregon has a similar climate to England.
