Status check

Exactly 2 weeks from today Mr X and I will be ecstatically driving a behemoth moving truck out of NM, on our way back home to CA. BUT - Despite my efforts to ensure that I will be gainfully employed by the time I get there, I still don't have a job lined up for myself in CA. We still don't have a renter lined up for our house here in NM. And we still don't have a place to live once we arrive in CA. Needless to say, I am nervous. So I have two weeks to resolve all of these outstanding "what-ifs" so that I can truly enjoy the moment when I cross the border, leaving NM.

This is how it plays out in my tiny brain: As we cross the border, I'll have the window rolled down, my head shoved out of it like a dog, looking back at NM and then I'll raise my left arm - keeping my hand in a tight fist - and I'll thrust out my middle finger with gusto and cackle loudly in the wind. JUST KIDDING! I'm not going to do that. That would just be inviting a major smack-down from Karma and I have bad enough luck as it is. I need Karma on my side. So I suppose to even out the bad Karma I just created by even typing that, I should note the things I will actually miss about NM.

1) Fantastic and easily accessible snowboarding.
2) Snow and snow storms and everything that comes with them. I love snow.
3) The fantastic lightening and thunder storms during monsoon season. (Way better than Sea World's fireworks shows.)
4) The sunrises and sunsets.
5) The beautiful view from my window of the city nestled at the bottom of the mountains.
6) My lovely and spacious home with it's 2 car garage.
7) Last but not least, the friends I've made here. (It was a long time in the process but I finally made some friends!)

It sounds like you guys don't know what the hec you are doing, but... you are moving to southern California, so who cares?! Seriously, I hope things start to work themselves out soon. Not so seriously, it seems a little sinister that you guys were trying to get us to move to New Mexico.

Charlotte, don't feel bad. When I left NM for the final time, I did exactly what you dream about, bad karma and all, I didn't care. And I had Tim there to document the savored event. It was a beautiful memory I will never forget.

I heard you are the most sad to leave your makeup room. We're excited to have you guys back for our last year, it's only fair and all. I still can't get over how Hannah says your name and Uncle Jeffery. It's so funny....

At least you have your house in SD figured out. The job will come... until then, we can play. Or you can be my nanny. Seaworld fireworks and all.

Nicole - If you were here in NM, it would have made this place loads of fun, I have no dought. So not sinister, merely selfish.

Em - Woo hoo! you posted on my blog. This is exciting for me. So Karma didn't get you back then, huh? Hmmm....
