It seems to me that everywhere anybody works, they have an 'work enemy' of sorts. Someone that just sucks the pleasantness out of work entirely. At the mere mention of this person's name, you instinctively bristle. I've found that everywhere I've worked there's ALWAYS one person who, more than anybody else, drives me batty. Note: this 'work enemy' designation does not apply in any way whatsoever to those coworkers who simply irritate and baffle. It has to be someone who is both obnoxious AND poses a serious impediment to accomplishing your work as planned. This person often generates copious amounts of unnecessary work and headaches for you.
I just met my new 'work enemy' today. We were introduced and less than one minute after words started pouring from her mouth, I knew. She will be the bane of my work existence. I was so sorry to have made her acquaintance this soon at my new place of employment. The thing that stinks is that she's leaps and bounds more feisty and pushy than I am. She's 'full of piss and vinegar' because she thinks she knows everything - including how to do my job. I tend to be timid and reserved at work because I never think I know anything - including how to do my job. I guess I've got my work cut out for me in more ways than one. Awesome.

I still don't think I know what it is you do at work??? I didn't have any constant work enemies when I worked outside of the home...maybe that means I was the work ememy!?!?!?
It's true!
Going to the hospital, (read blog) I was reminded of how it many times sucked to go to work because of that one piss and vinegar know-it-all. I could tell this one nurse (the one administering the IV to Monroe) was this person.
Ugh, hope it gets better!
Oh Charlotte, I do feel for you!
My condolences go out to you BIG TIME!
I had one of those dreaded 'work enemies' for about 5 years before I just COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE! (she happened to be my boss as well, which made it doubly hard)
It's what prompted me to go into retirement a bit early. . . FREE AT LAST! (at least of HER!)
Hopefully you will be able to cope with any and all sundry 'stuff' the work enemy throws your way.
I'm pulling for ya. . . .
