Powder

On Friday night, Mr X and I went to bed and to our delight, when we woke up at 6 AM the next morning we discovered that it had rained most of the night. That meant it probably snowed in the mountains, which meant that there would be loads of fresh powder for snowboarding. Unfortunately I had to work at 3 PM so we couldn't go for the whole day. But we got there early at 8:30 and snowboarded without stopping until 12:30. It was some of the best snow I've gotten to play in all season and we got nearly as many runs as we would if we went all day. Here are a few pictures:

Did you like it? Do you think you'll go again?

i was a beginner in the crudest sense. but by the end of our second winter with season's passes, i did enjoy it, and looked forward to each week. sometimes i went more for kevin, but always ended up glad that i went. it was 2 1/2 hour drive each way, so that was just a big chunck of the day driving. but it was so pretty! and sometimes we'd go up the night before and stay at this cheap $25 per night motel, so that was always fun, too. sounds like you two do quite a bit of driving to get to the snow! yes, i'd like to go again, but i'm afraid at how bad i would be. and the burn, oh the burn. there's nothing like the morning after your first go of the season. i can only imagine after 7 years and 3 kids how my body would love me after that! kevin went once out here, and left after an hour. he said we were really spoiled with our northern idaho snow. so when i do go again, i'd like to at least go somewhere where the landing will be soft, because i know i'll spend a lot of time getting back up!
some of my favorite memories are just riding the lift up with kevin, laughing at all the flourescent skiiers, and also at him as he grossed himself out with his farts coming up through his neck hole. good times...
