Julian is famous for its pies so Mr X and I decided to stop in and have a slice. There are several places one can get pie in this town so we just randomly picked one. 
We chose "Mom's." Mr X gave the place a 9 (out of 10) on presentation and a 3 on taste. He claimed the filling of his pie was too mushy and it lacked flavor. His pie was apple-cherry. Mine was a sugar-free apple with sugar-free ice cream. I thought it was decent. Here I am about to dig in:

So -- I was looking at this post with Sam and when he saw that picture where you are about to eat your apple pie, he said:
"That looks like Charlotte, but why does she have that face?!?"

Wow! Those pies look amazing! I love that 'Apple Pies Sold Here' sign. . . it would have had me entering on the double for sure!
Sam's explanation:
"Well, she's trying to smile -- but she's not showing her teeth."
My SD roommates took me to Julian so I could get the feeling of fall and take my mind off my grandfather having passed away the day before. We ate at the same place!
