Mr X and I travelled to the central part of England where the Peak District National Park is located. For those of you that are interested, this is also near the Derbyshire area where the fabled Mr Darcy's Pemberley was situated. Mr X and I decided to do a day hike through part of the national park. This particular day happened to also be a holiday for the UK so there were a fair amount of people out and about. But it was a beautiful hike even if it was more crowded than I prefer. I think it took us about four hours. Halfway through the hike we stopped at a minuscule village and had pasties and flapjacks for lunch.
Interestingly enough, I guess in England, people can actually live in the National Parks. In the US that doesn't happen. But it was just weird because it's a national park and your on a hiking trail but the trails wanders all through many people's properties. You just climb right over the fences onto people's fields and continue on your hike. Strange.
| Nothing like a refreshing J2O to quench one's thirst after a long hike. Many thanks to my SIL who gave me a heads up about these tasty UK beverages. |

1) You're welcome re: J2O.
2) With the exception of the aforementioned J2O, this post is so Jane Austen I can hardly stand it. I'm glad you guys had such a good time.
