Mr X's First Rodeo

A couple of weeks ago we decided that it was "high time" Mr X went to see a rodeo. He's never been to one before and ever since we moved here we kept telling ourselves that "this summer we're going to watch a rodeo". Three summers later we finally got around to it.

We also brought some friends with us. Luz and her husband Simone as well as our friend Vaquero John. It was good to have John there because none of the rest of us really knew much of what was going on. John used to ride in the rodeo circuit - bareback and saddle bronc - so he was able to tell us about anything and everything rodeo-related. It made the whole experience much more interesting. Vaquero John told us that he tried his hand at bull riding once but quickly discovered that the bull's head was much harder than his own. After that he stuck with the horses.

I apologize for the fuzziness of the photos - everything happens so fast and our shutter speed wasn't set quite fast enough. Next time we'll do a better job on that. The photos are in no particular order.
